Now He Can Breathe Easier

Share and Enjoy:

My husband recently went through a bad case of bronchitis. About the time he was getting over this his seasonal allergies started to bother him and he was having some trouble breathing. His doctor prescribed the ProAir Albuterol Sulfate Inhaler.

He has been using this inhaler for about a week and it has made his breathing a lot more comfortable. It has also decreased his coughing a night which means both of us get a better nights sleep.

The prescription says to take 2 puffs evey 4 hours as needed. My husband doesn't use this every 4 hours but just when his breathing gets difficult, usually after he has been working outside. The box says the inhaler contains 200 metered puffs so it should last him quite awhile.

The main side effect listed is that it may cause drowsiness. So far, my husband has not experienced any side effects from this medication. The box also states that this inhaler does not use chloroflourocarbons as a propellent so it is CFC free.

This inhaler is very easy to use. You just shake the inhaler right before using and then insert the mothpiece in your mouth, depress the inhaler, inhale deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds if possible.

This medication has worked very well for my husband and does just what it is supposed to do.
