I had this alarm system installed in my Blazer when I got it and really like it. It has a zone alarm system that will let you know what door has been tampered with depending on how many times it beeps when you disarm. It has a proximity alert that will warn someone who is near your vehicle. The remot has four buttons on it. The first is to lock/unlock doors, the second is the trunk release, there's a panic button that will flash the lights and honk the horn and the fourth button is my favorite: the remote start. It'svery easily mounted under the hood and will be out of the way once installed, but not difficult to get to. You can place it into valet mode so that the remote will still lock/unlock doors, but not activate the alarm. The only thing I will mark it down on is the false alarm factor. I work on an Air Force base where jets are constantly flying overhead. The vibrations are enough to cause it to alarm even though there has been no forced entry. Although I love the remote start, if you hold the button too long or not long enough, it has another security feature called lockout mode which won't allow the vehicle to start for ten minutes. That is very frustrating when a cool feature backfires like that. Instead of saving time by starting my vehicle from in the house or walking outside, I have to wait an additional ten minutes until it resets. You can adjust the sensitivity, but I don't want to loosen it too much  that it won't go off when there really is a problem. I like it other than the false alarms and lockout and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent alarm at a reasonable price.

  1. I love the auto start feature - that comes in so handy! I've noticed here that people who 'lose' their cars in the parking lot now use their alarms to find their cars...you'll hear alarms going off all over while people are wandering around trying to determine 'is that my car?' Meanwhile no one else even pays attention any more to alarms going off. Hope you don't have to wait too often to restart :)
