Do It Best Paint Brush is Impressive
Share and Enjoy:
I have a temporary job this week painting apartments. All the supplies are provided for me, and the brushes they have purchased are Do It Hardware’s “Best” line, called One Coat. The next time I want to buy a brush for myself, this is the brush I will buy. I’ve never painted with a synthetic bristle brush that I like as well as I like this one.
It actually is guaranteed to cover in one coat for all paints that are labeled “one-coat.” I think the reason the brush is so good is that it has an extremely high bristle count. This is not a brush that separates into two layers once it gets saturated with paint. If you’ve had this happen you know what I mean!
I’ve been using this 2 inch brush. Usually I like a smaller brush for painting edges, but except for really small places, I’ve been able to get a nice precise edge with this one. It has a good amount of taper, maybe 15 degrees. This is more than the small brush I bought, and I like it a lot.
This bristles are 100% performance formulated polyester (whatever that means). You can use it with all paints, stains, varnishes and enamels.
This brush was purchased at a Do It Hardware for $6.29.

As much as I like this brush, it has become too clogged with paint near the ferrule to hold its shape well after about one full week of use. Still, not bad for an inexpensive brush. My new favorite is the Quality Select brush.

A small brush, but can fit into many small places.
We've a number of these brushes, very nice work and like you said it's the bristle count that makes them quite decent.
