TWILIGHT

Share and Enjoy:

I work at a Middle/ Jr High School so I have seen the kids reading this book for the last year or so. When you see 10 - 20 kids in one day reading the SAME book at the same time you get a little curious. I asked one of the students about it and was told it was about a high school girl who falls in love with a vampire. Well that got my curiosity sparked even more. Like many people I am fasinated with vampires. Always have been since I was a little girl. Bram Stokers Dracula is still to this day one of my favorite novels.

I resently picked up a copy of "Twilight" at Walmart. It was a pretty good price so I bought it. Within 3 days I read it front to back. It was a VERY hard book to put down. I usually only put it down when my eyes got so heavy that I just couldn't keep them open any longer. It is about a 17 year old girl named Bella who moves to a different state to live with her father. She meets an "interesting"  family that just turn out to be a family of Vampires and falls in love with one named Edward. I do not want to give anything away for anyone who has not read this book yet so I'll just leave it at that. But I will say that thier relationship is not easy and becomes pretty frightening and dangerous at times.

There also seems to be another underlaying story apart from the relationship between Bella and Edward that involves a boy named Jacob and his father Billy who seem to know what Edward and his family are and they don't seem to get a long. I'm sure this part of the story will come out more in the 3 books that follow "Twilight" (New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) which I can't wait to finish the rest of the saga.

This book is focused on Young Adult age but I think Adults will enjoy it as well, I did. If you have a facination with vampires then I highly suggest you give this book a read. It leaves you breathless.

  1. Oh my gosh, if you liked this one, then read the other 3. I have finished all of them and I am in my 30's. they will also be comming out with the movie on 11/13 of this year. I can't wait to see that. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them.

    1. I just started reading "New Moon" yesterday and I have "Eclipse" sitting here waiting for me. I plan on purchasing "Breaking Dawn" this weekend. I heard that movie got moved up to november because WB had to move Harry Potter back to next summer. Kinda bumbed about HP but hey that gets us Twilight a month earlier YAY!
