The True Story Of The Three Little Pigs

Share and Enjoy:
The True Story Of The Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka and illustrated by Lane Smith is a wonderful children's story.

This is the wolf's version of what really happened in the story of The Three Little Pigs.  The original story is the story of three pigs who build their houses of three different materials.  Two of the pigs homes are destroyed by the wolf who then eats them but the third pig's house survives as it is made of bricks. In the wolf's version of the story the wolf proceeds to tell us how the media lied about what happened to the first two pigs. He proceeds to tell how he went to borrow sugar from the pigs (who were rude to the pig) and he accidently sneezed thereby destroying their houses by mistake and they died so he ate them so that they would not go to waste.

This is a fun little story that is very nicely written and illustrated. I usually use this along side the original story in classroom.

This story is good for ages six through eight or for children who understand this is just a fairy tale and is not real.
