We received this pair of brass deer as a house-warming gift. There is no maker's mark save the "Made in China" label. This set is solid brass and very heavy.
I looked online to try pulling together some maker information for this review. What I found was China makes a lot of brass deer art. Deer are called luk in China. Deer symbolize kindness, grace, longevity, and endurance. A home with a deer display will have year long Health, Wealth, and Longevity luck.
Our deer have very detailed markings. One interesting aspect is they seem to still have their spots. This indicates to me our set must be Axis Deer. They must also be a young couple because the rack on the buck is not fully developed.
During my research I noted that similar sets to ours average about $30 in price.
Now that I know what a thoughtful gift this brass deer set truly was, I’m going to return the favor.

My parents had a set just like this! They do make great accents.
