Robitussin Chest Congestion Cold Medicine

Share and Enjoy:

My cold of a million symptoms has recently brought me a cough and I am one who can't or I should say, shouldn't take cough medications due to the fact that some of the ingredients in them often don't play nicely with my chemistry.  Robitussin Extra Strength Chest Congestion cough syrup has actually worked for me though.

I normally take 1/2 of a teaspoon - which is about 1-1/2 times less than the bottle recommends.  I do this because just that small amount normally works for me and Robitussin Chest Congestion has been very effective.

The dosage indicated is 1 tsp for children ages 6-11 and 2 tsps for those 12 years and older.  This product indicates that it is good for removing chest congestion, phlegm/mucous (ugh) and soothes sore throats - which I have also had the last few days on and off.  After taking just a 1/2 tsp though I don't cough for at least 3-4 hours and my chest doesn't feel nearly as constricted and my throat does indeed feel better.

The taste is a little powerful though, a very odd mix of cherry with a bit of a punch to the end of it but it's far better tasting than Buckley's by a long shot - which I really can't take :)

You shouldn't take this product if you are pregnant or nursing or are experiencing shortness of breath or are on medications that you are not certain will work well with it.

Overall, this is a pretty good product that doesn't contain any alcohol and it works amazingly well with the small amount I take - perhaps I should up the dosage to a full child's :) as it might work even better then!
