Look Ma, No Power

Share and Enjoy:

This previously was my primary phone but now I am cordless and keep this one for use during power outages.   It really is not a bad phone at all, cordless is just more convenient for me.

This phone has a nice solid feel.  It can be used with tone or pulse dialing - I am not sure that this is a huge benefit since everyplace seems to be tone dialing now.  There is a lighted dial.  There is a three position volume control for the ear piece.  There are 12 phone number memory locations. There is a redial button for the last number called.

The phone contains an integrated solid state answering machine providing up to 15 minutes of record time. The incoming messages are audibly day and time stamped.  There are voice prompts on the answering machine functions, and messages can be retrieved remotely.  The answering machine functions are easy to operate.

The basic functions of this phone work without being plugged into AC power.  The light and answering machine functions do require the supplied AC converter to be attached.

The sound quality of this phone is very good.  The bell can be set to loud, soft, or turned off.

The main drawbacks of this phone are lack of a headset jack and that it while it has a speaker for the answering machine, it is not a speaker phone.

I bought this phone about 4 years ago, it seems that the only place you can find it now is on a couple of deep discount websites (for about $30).

This phone meets my needs for a back-up phone very well.  I think it would also be a good phone for a cabin.
