My husband and I are big, no, let me say HUGE coffee drinkers. My husband especially. For Christmas, from his Secret Santa, he was given a bag of coffee beans from Starbucks. He was totally excited because now he didn't have to drink his other coffee for a while.
The Starbucks coffee is called Sumatra, otherwise known as extra bold. This is the strongest kind of regular coffee that Starbucks sells and altough it is very strong for my tastes it is still good coffee and totally worth it.
These beans are the whole beans so it is very fresh when he makes it. All he does is grind enough coffee to make 12 cups of coffee. The package says that the coresness of how you grind the beans depends on your brewing method. It says that once you open the package, the freshness will last about seven days in an airtight container.
I love Starbucks coffee and I will continue to purchase for myself, friends, and family. If you don't mind paying higher prices for coffee, then I reccomend you buy Starbucks prepackaged coffee. You can get it at any Starbucks shop and I think now they even sell it at selected stores.

I have been toying with the idea of buying Starbucks coffee beans for my Cuisinart Coffee maker, but am afraid It will not tast anything like Starbucks, after your recommendation, I will surely pick up a pound bag and give it a try!
