Enjoy a menagerie of unusual creatures
This book is the very first collection of poetry by Shel Silverstein, first published in 1964 and again in February 2008. It was written for children ages 12 and up. This is the only book that contains illustrations in full color (64pgs). It is a book that adults will enjoy reading themselves or to a child. Shel Silverstein combines his imagination and bold sense of humor in each poem. Although the words do not rhyme, you can tell that they are poems.
Enjoy a menagerie of unusual creatures. The illustrations of each silly and beastly creature is colorful and funny. I especially enjoyed: 'Gritchen In Your Kitchen' (glad you could make it for tea), and 'Decline To Dine With The Glub-toothed Sline' (you never find me at home) It is a book filled with goofiness and fun and a treat for children and adults too. This is a book that you must own. All of Shel Silverstein books are amazing. I will give this book to my great-nephew, he loves reading and has a vivid imagination. I know he will absolutely be happy to call this book his own.
