However, having used it for the past 2 months I am very impressed with it. I have not yet explored all of the features that it has to offer, but I have so far been impressed with the functionality of the device. My key priorities are being able to use the phone and read emails and I find that Blackberry Pearl is more than capable of doing both. It looks good and while the screen is not the biggest it is still sufficient and clear enough to read emails - although I do prefer to read the longer emails on my laptop.
Typing on the Blackberry Pearl takes a little time to get used to because the keys are so small and fidgety and also because the device is too small to have a separate key for each letter. But once you come to terms with that you will find it easy to fire off a brief email; what I also like is the predictive text, which actually seems to remember words which you have previously inputted that were not in the memory.
Overall I am very pleased with the Blackberry Pearl. It discrete and functional, and in this respect it is a very useful business aid. With a number of business trips coming up I am sure that I will have plenty of time to play about with all the frills and features and will provide an update in the near future.

My son has this particular model and seems to like it as well. To date he's had no issues with it. Thanks for the info and good luck with your new duties ;)
