For the Sci-fi/Romance Reader

Share and Enjoy:

I have read a few books written by Susan Squires. I have learned that  with her books I either love the story and writing style immediately or I hate it. I happened to love this one. This was more on the lines of a sci-fi, futuristic,  romance novel. I have not read a lot of books like that. I found the story very interesting. The story deals with artificial intelligence (AI) and being able to incorporate that into a human body.

Story line (as written on the back of book):

Victoria Barnhardt set out to create something brilliant. She succeeded beyond her wildest fantasies. With one keystroke her program spiraled out of control...and something was born that defied possibility: a being who called to her.

He spoke from within a prison-seeking escape, seeking release, seeking her. He was a miracle that Vic had never intended. More than a scientific discovery, or a brilliant coup by one of the world's most infamous hackers, he was life. He was beauty. He was genius. And he needed to be freed, just as Vic needed to be released from the shadows of her past. The world might rise against them, but on one starry Los Angeles night, in each other's arms, they would find a way to have each other and freedom both.

Overall Opinion: This book actually got me thinking about future technology. As in will this one day be a possibility? I did not expect this book to be as good as it was. While the beginning does start off kind of slow, it does pick up. I did wish the author would have explained about the futuristic technology a little better. The characters are all very complex yet very interesting, especially reading about them  changing and evolving throughout the story. Overall though this book was really good and I am glad that I read it.
