Brilliant cleaning Philips electric toothbrush

Share and Enjoy:
I have to admit that I have been a little slow in picking up on the whole electric toothbrush revolution, but having seen the impact that an electric toothbrush has had on my mother's teeth I made a resolution to begin the New Year by transitioning from my beloved manual model.

I didn't realise that choosing an electric toothbrush would be so difficult as there area range of models on the market.  I finally settled on a Philips Sonicare and while I am still coming to terms with what I paid - for what is essentially a toothbrush with a motor in it - I have to admit that it has impressed me no end!

I felt the difference after using it just once; the cleaning motion is very robust and thorough and my teeth had that post-dentist feel (which I am ashamed to admit I had not experienced for a little while!).  What I also love about this toothbrush is the timer function which beeps every minute; in standard mode it cuts out after 2 minutes, but when you select the ‘Clean and White' function there is an additional 30 seconds of cleaning at increased intensity.

The battery life is also good although there is no low battery warning and it just beeps 3 times and then dies!  But with that said I have not had to charge it more than once or possibly twice a week so far, which is pretty good.

So overall I think that the Philips Sonicare is a good buy and after about 3 weeks I have noticed a big difference in both the cleanliness and colour of my teeth.  I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a solid performing, high-quality toothbrush.  However, I should warn that the brush head requires replacing every 3 months at an additional cost of around £20 for a pack of 3.  This will definitely add up over the course of the year, but in the grand scheme of things it is money well spent for healthy teeth and I have definitely spent money on more pointless items!
