Small System, HUGE Sound!

Share and Enjoy:
When I decided to replace my Sony mini hi-fi system I decided that I wanted to spend a little more money on something that would last me a long time - my previous system was a Sony mini hi-fi and had lasted 10 years, so with this in mind my new system had a lot to live up to!

I had always heard good things about the Denon brand; it is known for reliability and sound quality, although it often comes at a price.  That said, the Denon D-M37DAB is a typical Denon system and after 6 months I can assure you that this system really is money well spent.

First of all, do not let the size fool you!  It is very compact and I bought it largely because it would not take up too much space - in a flat as small as mine the last thing you want is a giant stereo which takes over the room.  However, once you turn it on the sound quality will definitely come as a pleasant surprise.  It produces a deep, crisp and powerful sound with an impressive bass, which definitely suits me as I love hip-hop.  The speakers are very solid and well built and as a result the sound remains just as clear even at higher volumes - and believe me, this thing can get very loud!

What I also love about this system is that it appears quite minimalist in comparison with many modern systems out there which are loaded with frills and features.  The display is more functional with clearly displayed information rather than flashing lights and little pictures.  I think that this adds some class to the system - but I should mention that it is anything but minimal beneath the surface and comes with most of the modern features out there including USB docking which lets me play my iPod though it.

Overall this is a brilliant hi-fi system: small, classy and understated yet powerful and high-tech.  I would admit that £350 was a lot of money to spend on a hi-fi, but in this instance I am convinced that I have got what I paid for and do not expect to be replacing it any time soon.  I am sure that you could find many good quality systems out there for a cheaper price, but if you are looking to splash out on a system that ticks pretty much all of the boxes then the Denon D- M37DAB will not disappoint.
