Dumbo (DVD)

In 2006, Dumbo was released to DVD for the first time. The story did not change. It is still the timeless classic of the birth of Dumbo, a little elephant with big ears. He simply does not fit in and is the focus of constant ridicule. He makes friends with a mouse named Timothy and the two learn that Dumbo's ears actually can serve him as wings, and he can fly.

This DVD is the "Big Top Edition." With that title, comes some features such as a informational video on Animals performing in the circus called a "DisneyPedia," a DVD Storybook, Sing Along Songs, and a music video.

My daughter had never seen the story of Dumbo as it had not been released in her lifetime so it was quite exciting to watch the joy in her face and the amazement when she watched the video the first time, and then the second time the next day, and to hear her singing along and talking to the characters for days when she took the DVD to the car to watch it daily. This is a great story that no matter how much time passes, is just as meaningful today as it was the first time it was viewed by Disney fans.
