Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward

I am a huge fan of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series (see my other reviews). It is about a group of tough & hot men who are battling a war against evil. This book is the 6th book in the series. I was a little disappointed in this book. This book is about Phury -who has a savior complex. He always feels the need to put others before himself. He is not without faults though he has a drug problem and never thinks he is good enough. I was excited to read about Phury his story. This is a 534 page book and I would be suprised if Phury and his girl got a 100 pages worth. There was a lot about the villians and other characters. While this book did have some resolve to previous dillemma's from the other books, I felt like Phury got short changed. All of the other brothers got their own book about them and their mates. This was more of a transitional book in the storyline. This book was just lacking in passion. I hope J.R. Ward steps the game up for the new book in this series.

 Storyline ( as on back of book): Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.

As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself- she sees the emotionally scarred male behind all his noble responsibility. But while the war with the Lessening Society grows more grim, and tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, Phury must decide between duty and love.

Overall: the synopsis of this book is kind of misleading. I got the impression that there would be more about Cormia & Phury in the book than there actually was. I would still recommend reading this if only to get caught up on the story before the newest book hits the shelves.
