I bought this Panasonic cordless telephone from Wal Mart a few months ago, and have been very satisfied with how it has worked. I only paid $49, but got tons of extra features. The handset has a small LCD screen digital display which is used for the caller ID feature, and memory feature which can be used to store frequently called numbers. The display can be backlit with an amber-colored light, which will make it easier to see if you are in the dark. Runs on the 5.8 GHz frequency band, rather than other phones which run on the 2 to 3 GHz bands. This lessens the chances of interference and improves call clarity. I have noticed this helps alot to make connections sound clearer than on other cordless phones. It's compatible with call waiting and caller ID features provided by your phone company. I can put it on the charger before I go to bed, and it will be fully charged in the morning. Even after months of use, the battery still holds a good charge. It is something I would definately recommend if you need a basic, inexpensive cordless phone that is compatible with your call waiting and caller ID services.
