Ocean Resort Hotel, Hawaii
I have visited Hawaii many times and usually stay in a condo. One year my husband and I chose to stay at the lower cost Ocean Resort Hotel in Waikiki. The price was great, but I would not stay there again.
What they don't tell you when you make a reservation is that the lower priced rooms are in the old tower. The pictures show the nicer new tower rooms. We had a mountain-view, one bed room on the 11th floor. The view was nice, but the room had work that needed to be done.
We could see the back side of Diamond Head, the mountains behind other hotels, and the new tower of our hotel from our small lani. We overlooked Kohio Ave. and a playground attached to a school.
The room itself had an ant problem. We had to call the first day we were there and the staff had to come up while we were gone to spray. It took the any problem down, but did not get rid of them all. Also, the water pressure was very bad. I"m not sure if it was the because we were on the 11th floor or just the plumbing.
I would not stay here again, but if you are looking for a hotel close to the beach, do not plan to spend much time in your room, and do not have much money to spend on a hotel, you might want to at least check this place out.

Glad to know where not to spend my money, if I ever make it to Hawaii.
ew ants! I had a friend who got a cheap room that was pretty bad too. I wish I could go to Hawaii!
