Tickle Me Elmo - Not Just For Kids

Ever since I first saw Tickle Me Elmo, I was intrigued by it. I'm far from being a child and I don't have children, but this toy makes me laugh.

My husband gave me my own Tickle Me Elmo for Christmas. I thought at first that it would be just me that was entertained, but my husband kept Elmo busy trying to find the secret ways to get him to do more and say more. The two of us played with Elmo for hours like a couple of 4 year old kids.

In case you've been on another planet and haven't seen Tickle Me Elmo (TMX version) in person, I'll try to describe what he does.

First, you list Elmo's arm up and bend him over at the waist. Press on his foot and he begins to talk. He stands up and says "Hey, where did everybody go? There you are!!" And then Elmo laughs while falling over laughing and sitting up and moving all around. The next time, he says, "Again! Again" and then he hits the floor and rolls over, laughing and giggling as if he were a child being tickled. Another time after you tickle him, he says, "Give Elmo a break, please!". All during this he is slapping his leg, bending over laughing, rolling on the floor, laying on his back and kicking his legs as he moves across the floor. The laugh is infectious, especially at one part. It's like hearing someone giggling and you can't help but join in even if you don't know why they're laughing.

Elmo has other secret things that he does that you have to figure out on your own. All of this depends on the sequence in which you move his body or the way it's moved and then tickled.

I took this to my relative's home the day I got it and the adults got sick of it pretty quick, but the kids loved it. I still love it, as does my husband. There are times when we all need a silly laugh and Elmo provides that.
