County Fair Computer Game

I just tried a demo version of the County Fair computer game on the Big Fish Games website.  I'm still on the fence as to whether I am going to purchase this game with one of my game club credits, but it really was interesting to play.

You are the manager of a county fair, and it is up to you to build the fair up and make a goal of a specified amount of money.  You have four days (not actually four days in real time, just a certain amount of time representing each day) to build your fair and make it prosperous.  You buy amusement rides, which come in small, medium and large, you buy food stands and game stands, and you set the prices for all tickets.  You also have to hire help to assist you in running the fair, mechanics, sanitation workers, security, and healthcare workers. 

The game is very colorful, and you really do feel like you are managing a fair as you control every aspect.  In my one hour demo, I didn't get very far, but I must admit that I found the game fun in the time that I was able to play it.

Sometimes you get fined if your fair isn't up to certain standards.  You have to send employees to certain parts of the fair when there is an accident on one of the rides, or someone becomes ill, or an area is especially dirty and your sanitation team must clean it up.  You also have to issue raises for the workers periodically, or else you end up with workers quitting and leaving you in the lurch.   It isn't easy reaching the goal for each level, and it makes the game challenging and fun.

Also, you are allotted a certain amount of ground on which to put all of your rides and stands.  If you run out of room, you have to either remove certain rides or stands, or move them around to make more room.  It can be challenging.

I'm still trying to decide whether I will buy this game, but I am leaning towards getting it.  I happened to enjoy playing it for an hour, and I'm curious to see what the higher levels would be like.
