AOL Instant Messenger

I love this program.  I have been running AOL Instant Messenger on my computer for over 8 years and it has remained to be one of my most useful programs.  It is a very simple messenger where you can add the Screen-names of your friends and talk to them over the computer.  It's got an easy to understand user interface and all of the features are in top working order.  If you don't want to talk to someone, you can simply put them on your block list and they will not be able to contact you anymore.  If you want to talk with a few friends who are all online at once, you can click a "create chat" button and make your own private chat room that you and your friends can talk in.  The possiblities are just endless when you use AOL Instant Messenger.  It is a completely secure program and you can tailor the settings to exactly fit your chatting style and your preferences very easily.  It's quite a universal chat program and many people from all parts of the world have it, so you can talk to people you don't know in real life if you want to.  Overall, I'd recommend AIM for anybody who has friends that use it frequently.
