Sony Handycam

Roll 'em! I purchased my Sony Handycam shortly after bringing the babies home from the hospital. I never used a camcorder in my life. I felt it was really important to record the growth of our triplets. I went to Walmart and looked at the different camcorders, not knowing much about them. I heard about the handycam and thought the name meant "easy" or should I say "easy for me". Perfect! I liked the design of it. I love anything with silver/stainless steel. My handycam is silver/black. I just love it! The best feature for me is that it is "easy to use". I don't like to read instruction booklets. I'm the type of person that just likes to get with it. I did read some pages here and there. I was up and going pretty quick. I use the Sony Handycam DVD-R discs. On the side of the handycam, you just push the access release switch and the door opens automatically for installation/removal of the disc. Close it. Slide the lens cover switch open. Turn the knob to "on". Flip open the screen. Push the button to record. It's that easy. After you record about 30 minutes, you turn the disc over and continue recording. I buy the double-sided discs. Once the discs are full, you can set the screen to finalize the disc to keep for lasting memories. You have to finalize each side. Finalizing only takes a few minutes. You can sit and watch til it is done. My handycam has a Carl Zeiss Lens 40X optical zoom. There is a slot to charge the battery. There are other features to my camera and if I read the instruction booklet, maybe someday I will use them. Someday. The video is excellent. Audio clear. After finalizing the disc, I just pop it into the DVD player and watch the result with a big smile. Nothing like capturing those special moments forever. Great camcorder!
