Buy Wedding Bands Online? You Bet!

Share and Enjoy:

On Valentine's Day 2009, my husband and I decided to renew our vows. Our first ceremony did not include matching wedding bands. We decided we needed a set of matching wedding bands this go around. However, we did not want to pay jewelry store prices. We searched local jewelers and found even plain thin gold bands cost a pretty penny, about $150 each for the gumball machine cheapies. We looked to the Internet for our purchase.

After a long search that brought little result, I decided to check out eBay. I purchased jewelry there before, so I felt good about it. I came across a seller's store called Pompeii3. They had a wide variety of wedding band sets to choose from for one low price. After a little more research, I found Pompeii3 has a website and a brick and mortar store and have been in the business for 30 years.

For our wedding bands, we wanted something a little better than plain gold, white gold, or otherwise. Paging through the Pompeii3 inventory I came across five different styles I liked. I waited for my husband to make his choices. We finally narrowed down our selections to three: A braided looking band, a band with diamond cut engravings, and a two-tone.

The 14k gold two-tone set is what we chose in the end. The bands are 6mm thick and weigh approximately 12 grams, so they are heavy, substantial rings. The centers of the rings are 14k yellow gold with a brushed finish. The 14k white gold has a high polished finish to it.

The bands are what they call a comfort fit. This really is true to the name because the edges are rounded and do not cut into your finger. They feel very comfortable on despite the width of the band.

For this matching semi-custom set of 14k gold wedding bands, we paid under $400 including shipping. On a recent mall browsing trip, I glanced at the wedding bands in a retail jewelry store. I saw something similar to our set and found they cost $550. So, we got a deal!

My pictures really do not do the ring justice, so I included the stock photo, which should be credited to Pompeii3 Jewelry.
