Intrudalert is a cheap 'as seen on tv product' now filling the shelves of local Dollar Tree stores. Yes indeed, for just a buck, you can get yourself one of these battery operated home alert systems.
Setting it up is a breeze. Simply put in the batteries then attach the 2 parts of the alarm on a door, window, or cabinet. See, when both pieces are set beside each other, there's quiet - such as if your door is closed. The second they are moved apart, like when a door opens, an ear shattering 90 decibel piercing alarm goes off and rest assured, you will hear it if you're far away!
Its got an on/off switch incase you're going in and out and don't want to deal with that noise every second, so that's pretty cool. Basically, its an additional barrier of protection for your home.
My aunt has a state of the art alarm system yet burglars managed to find and deactivate it before breaking in! Since this alarm exists within your home, a burglar won't know about it until after he or she opens your door. If you're asleep, this thing will wake you up! And the burglar'll probably end up with a headache as he runs off in a panic while neighbors peek out their window to see what's the noise all about.
For $1 you can stock up on these things and put them all around your home - basement doors and window too incase some creep decides to crawl in.
And last but not least, according to the packaging, "This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause harmful interference,
(2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation."

Whenever my brother sneaks out at night my mom puts this on the door so when he returns at 2 or 3am, he's busted. Usually makes him angry then he rips out the batteries but it works, and she's a heavy sleeper who snores like a chainsaw!

hey for 1 buck this is a great deal.
Yup. Granted the person has to actually open a window or door in your home to get in, but the sound itself would most likely cause them to flee and get you aware of them as opposed to just sleeping through it for instance.
