Green Dot Card Not A Great Idea Like We Thought!

I have a SERIOUS issue with giving out credit card or debit card numbers over the phone or on the internet.  When my husband and I decided to switch to Dish Network Sattilite the representative that we were talking to wanted a debit or credit card number.  So, my husband and I decided that we would go with the green dot one and that way if anyone gets ahold of our card number there would be very minimal damage that the person could do with the card because it was prepaid.  We purchased the Money Pak card from our local Walgreens and thought that we would be good to go.  Well it was our mistake that the Green Dot Money Pak is not what you use as your card.  According to the display in the store (which was huge) it made it sound like you could purchas and use within an hour after activating the Money Pak.  Worng!!  You need a credit/debit card from them as well/  We get home and I go to activate on the internet and find out about the card that we needed.  Ok fine.....So I order a card and recieved it in the mail, loeaded the Money Pak on it and waited, checked my blalance on the website and it said that there was the money in there.  I thought to myself cool!  When Dish went to run the card number it said it was declined.  So I looked on the website again and it said that there was an debit on the account for the total amount that I put on there!  Then there was also a credit from some place in GA!  Bottom line I called the customer service to find out what the heck was going on and the cancelled my card  and said that they are going to send me a new on in a week.  I asked about the money that I was owed and they said it should be on the new card and hung up on me!!  I am SERIOUSLY regretting ever purchasing this sill card!
