The weed eater that I purchased has a curved shaft which I find handy because I like to rotate the weed eater 180 degrees when trimming around the landscape edging that I installed around bushes and shrubs. This places the rotating head in a vertical position and creates a sharp trim next to the landscape edging.
The Bolens model BL100 weed eater has a 17" cut and a guard at the rotating head. It is trigger controlled for regulating rotation speed. This particular weed eater is equipped with a spring loaded kill switch to shut the engine off when the job is finished without leaving the switch in the off position.
Starting the Bolens model BL100 is as easy as 1-2-3 because it has a clearly labeled three position choke. There is a sticker mounted on the shaft with starting instructions. Safety glasses should be worn when operating any weed eater for eye protection.
