Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Unit Review
Share and Enjoy:
A while back I bought the Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS unit, and it has been great for the price. The unit itself is very lightweight and compact so I can fit it in my pocket. The buttons are nice and easy to press, with a nice joystick to make selections on the many menus this GPS has. One important thing is that it does come with the USB caple to send maps and waypoints easily. The battery compartment is nice and easy to take off containing two slots for AA batteries. So far, the battery life has been great for me. A down side about the unit is that there is no slot for an SD card. It only comes with 24 MB internal space. When you turn the GPS on, it can sometimes be hard to see, but luckily it comes with a backlight that you can set to different levels. The menu and controls are very easy to control and use. When using the GPS, it can sometimes be accurate, but can be very unaccurate at other times. When you mark a waypoint onto your GPS, it will be off by at least a metre. I mainly use this GPS for geocaching, and it has been fine to me. I do recommend this unit.
