Bissell Versus Bare Floor Vacuum

I recently put in Pergo floors in the entire main floor of our house. I love the floors but I hate all the dog hair that collects so easily on them. I have a Labrador that seems to shed her entire weight in hair each day. I was using a rechargeable Eureka stick vacuum or the Dyson. The Dyson was too big and it just works better on carpet. The Eureka was no longer holding a charge (it was over 5 years). I needed a new small vacuum that was corded and did a good job picking up the endless dog hair.

I did some online research and came along the Bissell Versus Bare Floor Vacuum. The first thing I noticed was the neat design. It has a v-shaped head that is suppose to capture and suction for the most complete clean. It also claims that "The V shape also directs large debris into the center suction path while suctioning fine particles along the arms." I was also happy to find out that "Good Housekeeping has selected the BISSELL Versus™ Bare Floor Vacuum as one of 10 winners of its inaugural VIP (Very Innovative Product) Awards." The Versus has 12 amps of power and is corded. I was sold on all of its features and I went to purchase the vacuum. 

After purchasing the vacuum, I was eager to try it out. Assembly was very easy and took less than 2 minutes and only required using the screwdriver once (to attached the handle). I plugged it in and went to work on the hairy floor. I was immediately impressed at how easily it picked up the dog hair. It also had no problem picking up Cheerios and other small pieces. My husband was worried that because of the v-shaped head that it wouldn't work well along the walls and baseboards. While it isn't the best at the baseboards, it still does a good job and gets most of the hair.

The vacuum comes with a bagless canister. The canister is large for a stick vacuum and I was able to vacuum two times before I needed to empty it. The canister is very easy to empty.

The cord is approximately 20 feet and is easy to wrap and store on the vacuum. The vacuum does come with a cervice tool, which easily attaches to the removable hose. 

The Versus also comes with the standard limited one year warranty.

Bissell also claims that you can use the Versus on low pile rugs. I wasn't very impressed with its ability to clean the rugs. However, I bought this vacuum to use on the bare floors - not rugs. 

Overall I am very impressed with this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone. Especially if they have a dog that excessively sheds.
