Carol Higgins Clark, daughter of Mary Higgins Clark, writes mysteries just like her mother. And she has written a series of books called Regan Reilly mysteries, of which this is one.
Regan and Jack Reilly are newlyweds and are honeymooning in Ireland at Hennessy Castle. Regan is a private investigator and Jack is head of the Major Case Squad in New York City. Both of them are looking forward to having a relaxing time away from the crime that they deal with on a daily basis. But how relaxing will it be? The castle where they are staying may be haunted by the ghost of a woman who made a beautiful tablecloth and never received payment for it. The tablecloth is stolen, and there is a mystery surrounding the theft. Plus, Regan and Jack are plagued by a pair of jewel thieves Jack has been trying to catch for over a year. The newly married couple can't get away from crime even on their honeymoon.
I've read a few other Regan Reilly mysteries and have liked them all. Laced was an interesting read, and Regan and Jack make such a cute couple, as well as a good crime-solving team.
