This Digital Photo Frame Makes a Great Gift

Share and Enjoy:
Some people are impossible to shop for. My Mother-in-law is one of these people. For her birthday this year, I was completely baffled as to what to get her. I wandered the store aimlessly until I came across a display of digital photo frames.

I remembered a family get-together where she stood at my computer and watched photos flash before her on my computer screen saver. She seemed amazed and literally stood there and watched every single picture scroll through. Sometimes she commented. In addition, among some giggles, I swear I saw a tear or two.

Since I had done standard picture frames and photo albums to death, I decided to get her the Kodak Easy Share digital frame. At the store, I checked out each of the digital frames on display and found this one to have every feature I would like yet be easy as pie to operate.

Features:

128 MB internal storage (up to 1000 images)
Has an external storage device slot
USB connectivity
AC adapter
Decor adaptability
Play image slideshow or video with sound/music
Touch border for ease editing/deleting/changing features

I love that the Kodak frame has internal and external storage capabilities. I was able to load up the digital frame with a ton of pictures and get my Sister-in-law to send more on an SD card, which can be easily inserted and loads instantly.

I already had easy share software on my computer because I have a Kodak Easy Share camera. Therefore, once I plugged in the USB, it pretty much went to work. I had images loaded onto the digital frame and scrolling for viewing almost instantly.

The Kodak digital frame comes with two different border mats. Adapting it to suit your taste and living room is no problem.  The mats change out just like your standard photo frame with clips on the back.

This digital photo frame can be free standing or hung on the wall either landscape or portrait. You cannot vacillate between landscape and portrait though. If your image is a portrait, and you have the digital frame set to landscape, some of the image may be cropped and the screen may have blank space on either side.

The AC adapter is adequate for tabletop use. I really think it would need to be a bit longer for wall hanging. However, where there is a will, there is a way.

I did not load any music to the Kodak frame, so I do not know too much about this feature. Just the fact it has sound capacity is great. Now we can give her videos of the kids to view from the external storage slot.

My favorite feature of this digital frame is the touch border. You can access the menu to edit/delete images, change settings, and this allows you move forward and back through them. It is much like thumbing through a photo album and works beautifully.

The view screen is about 4 inches by 6 inches, so the image size is nice. The image quality, color, and resolution is spectacular, especially compared to digital frames of their premier year many moons ago.

Images scroll as you set them to like the slide show setting on most computers. The frame has a variety of viewing options and image time settings from seconds to an hour per image.

This Kodak Easy Share Digital frame was probably the best gift I could ever give my Mother-in-law. She started to cry when she saw it in action. I know she will never get a computer to store images. Moreover, photo albums, as fun as they are, can be cumbersome to pull out all the time. Therefore, I have out done myself and given the perfect gift to someone you cannot buy gifts for.

  1. I also have one at home but never got the chance to try it for my digital pictures. I will definitely give it a try and see for myself how beautiful our family pictures slideshow. =)
