Cruising out of Mobile, book this deal!

We booked the Park and Cruise Mobile Vacation package the the Marriott Renaissance Riverview Hotel for our recent Carnival Cruise Lines cruise out of Mobile, Alabama. It is an outstanding hotel at at outstanding price.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Mobile at 64 South Water Street, directly across the street from the Carnival Cruise lines terminal. Our room had a view of the port and we were excited to see our ship sitting there when we woke up in the morning.

This package deal is a great bargain. The package includes your room for the night, parking for the entire length of your cruise in their covered parking deck and a shuttle to the port and back to the hotel when the ship returns. The cost for all of this was $119.00 plus tax. We checked several hotels in the area and this was the best deal out there.

Parking at the pier for a 5 day cruise costs $75.00 per car. When you subtract that from the $119.00 cost of this package, it brings the cost of the room to only $44.00 for the night. There were no other decent hotels in the area that charged close to that rate and the regular cost of a room at this hotel with out the package was priced at $159.00 a night.

The hotel is beautiful, and clean. The rooms have a floor to ceiling wall of windows, ours overlooked the cruise terminal and the convention center. They also have refrigerators, down comforters, high thread count sheets, pillow top mattresses, lighted vanity mirrors and marble baths.

The parking is in a covered, multi- story parking deck attached to the hotel. Upon check in you receive a key card that allows you unlimited free access to and from the lot during the length of your stay. Security patrols the deck for safety.

When we checked in we were given a list of available times for the shuttle service to the terminal. The shuttle they use is a 7 passenger van. We waited in the lobby for the van driver at our chosen time. He called our name and escorted us out to where the van was parked. From the hotel it is about a 5 minute ride to the terminal. We were dropped off in front of the entry doors where we were met with porters from the ship who unloaded our luggage from the van and took it to the ship. The process was painless and easy.

When the ship docked after the cruise, we picked up our luggage, made it through customs and out the door of the terminal. There was a gentleman there pointing passengers where they needed to go. I asked where the pick up was for the Renaissance hotel shuttle and he pointed to the van sitting there waiting for us. The driver loaded the luggage on the van and in less than 10 minutes from walking out of the cruise terminal, I was in my car and on the way back home.

I highly recommend this package for anyone who needs a hotel for the night prior to taking a cruise out of the Mobile, Alabama area.
