I am blessed (or cursed) with naturally curly hair. It is also very dry, so I have spent a lifetime looking for good hair products that will help me beat my hair into submission. I found a hair "softener" and conditioner with the wonderful name of Mega Silk Intense Conditioning Mayonnaise. I found it at a small beauty supply store, the kind that supplies salons. It contains various "silk proteins and olive oil" among other things. Who could resist that? It smells wonderful, is a lovely shade of pink and is very easy to apply. After shampooing, it is applied to towel dried hair for 15 minutes. So far, so good. Then you try to get it out of your hair. The Mega Silk is very thick, and it took much repeated rinsing in very hot water to get my hair feeling clean again. When my hair dried, it felt and looked heavy and lank. My hair was very soft, I'll give it that, but there was very little shine or body. I had to re-wash my hair and use a very light conditioner to make it manageable. I was quite disappointed, as the product is very pricey and I really loved the smell. Unfortunately, I won't be using Mega Silk again.
