Energizer Rechargeable Batteries & Charger

Share and Enjoy:

When I was expecting my 1st baby, I quickly became aware that almost every baby product and toy required batteries. In an effort to keep battery usage to a minimal and to help prevent too many batteries from ending up in the garbage, I decided to register for a battery charger and rechargeable batteries. I was happy to receive the Energizer Batteries and Charger.

The package consisted of 12 batteries - 4 AAA batteries and 8 AA batteries - and a charger. You are able to charge up to 4 batteries at a time and you are able to mix the two sizes. The charge comes ready to charge the AA batteries. To charge the AAA batteries, you just have to flip down a small switch. The unit is fairly small (about the size of a deck of cards) and doesn't take up much room.

It takes about 8 hours to charge the batteries. The unit also has an automatic overcharge protection and it shuts itself off after 10 hours of charging. There is a status light that indicates when the batteries are done charging. It is red while charging and green when charged.

The bad thing about the automatic overcharge protection is that once it shuts the unit off, it cannot be turned back on unless you unplug the unit and replug it back in. The batteries seem to lose their charge while they sit in the unit.

The charge on the batteries isn't amazing and I find myself changing batteries way more often than I would like. This is especially annoying on the children's toys which require a screwdriver to remove the battery cover. I find that I like to use the rechargeable batteries on the computer mouse or my digital camera. They last about 1-2 weeks in the computer mouse and for a full day in the camera.

Overall, I am satisified with the product and I will continue to use it. I can't say with any certainty that I would buy one as a gift or replace mine if it broke.

  1. Everything is batteries, and it seems baby stuff is right up there. We have tried different chargers too, but as long as there are batteries we will need these things,or go broke on batteries.
