Does your baby have a gripe? Try this!

When you're having a baby everyone wants to give you advice and gifts. Once such gift I received was for Gripe Water from Life Brand. Gripe Water is for the quick, gentle relief of a baby's minor stomach upsets such as colic, cramps, sour stomach and hiccups. These ailments usually occure during teething. I put this review under alternative medicine because basically I was told Gripe Water would help my baby with all of his stomach and feeding problems.

Life Brand Gripe Water comes in a clear plastic 250 mL bottle with a simple twist-off cap. It is value-sized so you get more for your money. It is also alcohol free and contains anise oil, dill oil, fennel oil, glycerine, P-Hydroxybenzoate, polysorbate 80, sucrose and water. The only medicinal ingredient is Sodium Bicarbonate (50mg/5mL). 

You needs shake up the gripe water before giving it to the baby. It smells like licorice, probably due to the anise oil in it. My son hated the smell and it was always a struggle to get him swallow it. I had to fool him and put it in the nipple of his bottle. I think that this product really does work to help babies stomachs as he would always release gas or settle down soon after I gave him a dose. This was a great alternative to prescription drugs to help my baby with his upset stomach. I recommend that you use it for your baby too!
