No Annual Fee Credit Card
With most credit cards, the moment you sign up for them and your card gets approved, the annual fee for the first year is waived. That is what happened with my Metrobank Visa Card. But when the first year was over, I requested for the waiving of the annual fee (which I do with my other bank). They would not grant it. So I told them that I would like my account cancelled.
The call center agent who assisted me asked if I wanted my account to be converted into an MCard. What is that? She said that it was another of their products. It was a Mastercard, however, there are no sign up rewards or bonuses and no rewards points for every purchase. But the good thing is, its annual fee is FREE FOREVER! Yes, that is right. There is no annual fee for this kind of card.
So I signed up for it. After all there is no fee. It doesn't matter for me that there are no rewards points for my purchases. I just use this card anyway for the time of the month when I need to buy something and my other credit cards have already a lot of debits in them and I needed a little space for the next payments.
And since it is Mastercard, I can use it internationally as well. This is a very good product by Metrobank. They would rather have this product that have another client cut off her account. Good deal.
