Ectokyl 3X Flea and Tick Shampoo for Dogs and Cats

All summer long, hubby and I have not had a problem with ticks on our three dachshunds, and all of a sudden I was finding ticks on them.  A visit to the vet was called for.  We have a wild fox who has been roaming the neighborhood, probably looking for food.  Animal control was called by several neighbors, but they haven't been able to catch him.  Our vet told us that he most likely was the cause of our acquiring ticks in the backyard that are now hitching a ride on our pooches. 

So, we purchased some Ectokyl 3X Flea and Tick Shampoo in an 8 fl oz bottle.  We bathed the dogs, rinsed them well, and dried them off.  I feel that the shampoo has been effective, because I have not been finding ticks on them the way I was before. 

This shampoo is a 3X Pyrethrin formula with oatmeal conditioner and natural aloe for soothing qualities.  I must say that our dogs' coats are so shiny and healthy-looking after using this shampoo. 

There are warnings to adhere to.  It is toxic to fish and causes eye and skin irritation.  My husband and I wore gloves when using it and I even put on old clothing.  We were very careful.  Ectokyl 3X is for use on dogs and cats only.  It is not to be used on puppies or kittens under 12 weeks of age.

Hopefully, this shampoo will do the trick.  The one thing my husband and I don't want is a tick infestation.
