Alpo Variety Snaps - Good for Rewards

These are not the cheapest treats on the market, by the pound, but because they are small, you get a lot of servings. They run about 7 treats to the ounce, so in a 2 pound box, that is 225 biscuits. At $2.55 for the box that is just over a penny a treat. Not bad.
They are boxes with four assorted flavors in each box: beef, chicken, liver and lamb. The box says that there are no artificial flavors or preservatives. They have calcium added. There are colorings added to make the “snaps” appear brown, yellowish, reddish, and tan. I’m sure the dog doesn’t care about the color, but they look interesting to the humans. My dog doesn’t seem to prefer any one flavor over another.
If you want to make them go even farther you can break these into smaller pieces, and they do break easily. It’s often difficult to break up other types of dog treats into smaller servings.
They come in one size, which is a square wafer, about 1.25 inches on a side.
The only thing one might find fault with is that these are not organic, which is all the rage. Personally, I think they are fine for the dog. Probably much better than the “organic” treats that she finds for herself out in the field!
