Super 8 Motel in Springfield, Illinois

I have always been fascinated with President Abraham Lincoln. I am trying to visit all of the major location in the country that have to deal with Mr. Lincoln. One very prominent location is Springfield, Illinois where he lived and worked for many years. This is also where he was elected President and he is laid to rest here. My mother and I decided to take a little weekend girls vacation so we chose to visit Springfield, Illinois. While searching online for accommodations for our stay I checked the Super 8 website. I was able to get a discount on the room by reserving the room through their web site. I payed $43.35 per night (2 nights) on a room that at regular price was around $59 per night. With taxes I payed a total of $73.37 for a weekend stay. Not a bad price for what we were going to use the room for. Since there is a lot to do in Springfield we really only needed the room for sleep and showers.

With reserving our room online check in was very easy. I gave my name at the front desk and they asked for my ID, printed off a receit and handed me my room key card. Easy as that. Locating the room was easy as well. The rooms are well marked and the halls have signs with arrows pointing to where the rooms are. Our room was in the back of the hotel on ground level. Very easy to find. the doors to the rooms are inside the building (not facing out towards a parking lot) but it was easy to find our room window and park the car close to be kept an eye on. There were plenty of exits around the building so no matter where you parked there was an entrance close by. 

The room it's self was fairly clean. The carpet was clean, the bedding was all clean and fresh. The table tops were clean. Our room consisted of a queen size bed, a lounge chair and foot stool, a writing desk, TV, and bed side table with alarm clock and of course bathroom. The bathroom was clean for the most part. There was some slight molding in the small creases in the shower though. TV had cable and worked fine. There was also free WIFI internet which was great to be able to use the internet on my laptop without any extra charge.

Check out on the morning we left was easy as well. I handed them my key card and they printed off another receit at my request and my card was charged a few days later. 

There was only one major problem during our stay. During the second day after our first night at the hotel my key card would not work in the digital lock anymore. The employees at the front desk were very curtious and helpful and got a new key card to me right then. Other then that little insident the stay was very nice and perfect for what we need at a price that could not be passed up.
