My First Baking Pan

Back then in college, I started to try making my own cakes and cookies. It was because of my cousin that I was interested in this cookies/cake making. She loved to stay at our house, sometimes for days. At these times she would bring her own tools for the baking, even her gas oven! (my mother doesn’t like making cakes/cookies, but she loves to cook meals). My cousin even took a cake/cookies making class and was very determined at it and I admired her for it. To be honest, I got my first experiences with baking stuffs from her. To my surprise, my mother bought me this baking pan one day. I was so excited getting my first tool to start with. I showed this to my cousin and she liked it too. Together we made cookies and cakes with it. This baking pan is a homemade pan, I can tell that for sure. My mother bought it at a local store where it sold baking tools. This baking pan is made of aluminum, and because the material is quite thick, it seems pretty solid and durable for a baking pan. The size that my mother chose was 22cm x 22cm x 5cm, an exact size matching with my cousin’s and my oven (my hubby bought me a small electric oven soon after we got married). This baking pan is not only for baking purposes, but sometimes I also use it for warming food in the oven. For me it’s just a perfect tool! Somehow it would remind me of my cousin, at the times when we used to bake together at my mother’s kitchen. My cousin is gone now; she died in a car accident nine years ago. But I feel glad that we had those happy baking moments together. And if it weren’t for her, I would never have this baking pan.
