This is a video karaoke toy for children. The child uses a microphone to sing the recorded songs that are on the cartridges and can watch themselves on the television. I like this toy but I am not thrilled with the cartridges. They are not really songs that small children really know. Most children (mine included) do not know the words to "Hey Yah" and "Who let the Dogs Out." Unfortunately you can only use the cartridges that are compatible with thie machine so your choices are limited. I will say though the the kids really enjoy being able to watch themselves on the television and it is cute because you can record them straight off the television. It makes for super cute home moives! I do wish it came with more than one microphone. Overall I think it is a fun toy and I am not sorry that we own it.
