Pelonis Parabolic Radiant Heater
Share and Enjoy:
This is the Pelonis Parabolic / Radiant Heater. What exactly do all the fancy words mean? Radiant heat is a heat source that does not heat the air, as convection heater do, but heats objects themselves. This allows heat to be focused exactly where you want it to go without losing heat due to the wind or other airflow. Parabolic means the shape of the reflector behind the heat source is rounded inward (concave) to reflect more of the heat outward.
The heater has two heat settings - 500 Watts and 1000 Watts. It sounds low but it packed a wallop! The problem is that you really need to be in the direct line of sight for the heat to warm you. Oftentimes, I would be burning my leg while my arm was cold.
It features an oscillating of the top. It has no fan. It does have a tilt and height adjustment option.
As a safety feature, it has a tip-over power switch, which automatically shuts down if the heater should be bumped over. It also includes a one year Warranty.
This a good powerful heater but, without a fan to spread the heat out, it's only as hot as where you aim it. I have to say it's not good for weather under 40 degrees.
