Angels Fall

I should mention first that I am a big fan of Nora Roberts, who is the author of "Angels Fall."  I bought this book the night before I was leaving on a weekend vacation to the beach, and to be totally honest, I didn't even read the book description before buying it- I saw that it was a Nora Roberts book, and figured I would like it.  I haven't been disappointed by one of her books yet, and this one was no exception!

This book features main character Reece Gilmore, who moves out west into the mountains after she is the only survivor of a crime on the east coast.  The reader gets to know Reece through Roberts' wonderful affinity to detail; she describes her personality so well, I felt like I had known Reece all my life.  Reece is a wonderful character; she is racked with nerves because of her past, but she is still somehow solid and strong- I felt like I wanted to protect her, and yet somehow was impressed by her at the same time.   As the story goes on, Reece is a witness to a crime in her new town, but when she reports the crime, no one believes her, partly because she is new to the town, and partly because she sometimes looks like she is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.  Will the crime be solved?  Is there a crime at all, or was it just Reece's hypersensitive imagination?  I am afraid you will have to read this book to find out for sure!

This book contains a lot of action, lots of suspense, and even a little romance (not too sappy though!)  It is well-written, and just in general a great read; I really loved it, and recommend it to anyone.
