Jessica Seinfield's Deceptively Delicious, BUY IT!
I bought the new cookbook by Jessica Seinfield: Deceptively Delicious because it's very difficult to get my little ones to eat healthy. I have tried a few of the recipes and really found them very easy and good. My children (and my husband) never knew they were eating veggies. The premise of the book is basically hiding pureed vegetables inside of sauces or mixed foods. If you are a semi-experienced cook, most of the recipes are a piece of cake.
My kids have liked everything I've cooked from the book so far, though I haven't gone too crazy. They'd know something was up if I started cooking things that are out of the norm, so I've stuck with things that I normally cook like mashed potatoes, meatloaf, chicken nuggets, etc. I feel good making these recipes because I'm doing my part to make sure they eat healthy.
How do I feel about tricking them into eating veggies? Not a bit guilty, though I realize I'm not teaching them to like foods that I hope they will one day like...that does bug me a little...but not too much!
