Hop on Pop
Share and Enjoy:
Hop on Pop is one of our son's first real books that he picked out and READ from cover to cover. It is written by Dr. Seuss and as the front says "The Simplest Seuss for the Youngest use." This is an excellant first book. While it really is not a story per say, it DOES keep the kids attention and keeps them reading. Dr. Seuss makes use of phonics to help the children sound out words. Most pages have two large rhyming words followed by a sentence with about three words. For example, page six says "MOUSE" and "HOUSE" followed by "Mouse on house." I'm not sure who did the drawings for the book but they correlate with the words perfectly. This too is a big help for little ones just starting to read. The can pretty much look at the picture and guess what the words should be. I highly recommend this book if you have a child just learning to read.
