Budget Rent A Car
I usually rent cars a few times a year. Sometimes I rent when I go on a trip, but other other times I rent cars when I need a vehicle to drive locally for various reasons. I normally rent from Budget Rent A Car because they have prices lower than the competition, they don't require a huge deposit, and you can rent with a debit card.
Last August, I decided to take a trip up to Tennessee to visit my mother for a few weeks, and since I didn't want to put the miles on my car, i decided to rent a car. I went online and reserved a compact car which was supposed to be a Ford Focus or something similar. Unfortunately, when I got to the Budget Office, I was informed that they did not have any compact cars available, and I was offered a mid size car at no extra charge. I was extremely disappointed with this revelation because I was hoping to save money on gas in the Focus and I knew that I was going to spend a lot more in a mid size car. In addtion, the agent who was assisting me didn't seem very efficient and the line grew long behind me.
Despite my unhappiness with the change of cars, the mid size car that I was given--a Pontiac--was clean and drove well. Budget also remedied the situation for me after I called the 1-800 number and complained. They took 20 percent off of my next rental to make up for the difference in what I spent on gas.
Even with the problems I encountered, I would rent from Budget again. Not only do they offer the lowest prices around, in the end, they did make ammends for their error.
