Dove Straight & Soft
In this day and age of sleek, straight hair looks, my hair texture is completely out of style. With enough natural wave to not lay straight, but not enough to look curly, styling my hair is more frustrating than potty training my 2 year old.
I decided to try Dove Straight & Sleek because it promised a natural, soft look while taming the "frizzies" and "fly aways" my hair is prone to. The cream starts out promising, thick like a nice lotion, but light enough to comb through my below the shoulder length hair.
As I styled, using a combination straightener/dryer, I expected my hair to lie flat and swing naturally. Instead, I noticed that where the styling cream was thickest, my hair looked greasy and stuck together. In places where the cream was not so thick, my hair had a familier look, slightly kinky with little ends flying up everywhere.
The Dove Straight & Soft Sleek Styling Cream was not up to my problematic hair. It was just not strong enough for my medium thick, slightly wavy hair texture.
What this product lacks in performance is not made up in convenience, either. The styling cream is for use on damp hair only, so no dry hair touch ups are possible, and unless hair is completely dried after application, it looks greasy and clumps together.
Overall, this was a disappointing performance from brand that claims to make even Wilma Flintstones' hair more manageable.
