Though Northern California winters don't hold a candle to the East Coast in terms of viciously cold winters, we do have our share of cold freezing nights. Plus we sleep cold at nights, turning off the heat so we promote healthier respiratory functions. So, when I did some research I discovered down has evolved into a much healthier bed covering. Most high end down pillows and comforters use thoroughly cleaned and sterilized down labelled as eco-down.
I wanted a good long lasting down comforter, with high loft and fill power, coupled with an attractive durable cover. Machine washability was an added plus. I found it all in one perfect comforter at Macy's. Looking through their online site, I spotted this comforter and wanted it immediately. It was at that time, marked down from $490.00 to an astonishing $199.00. The battle was lost right there. I must not have been the only one feeling that shoppers rush, and loving the results, as 15 reviewers gave this down comforter 5 stars.
It is simply perfect. From its non clumping high loft, it's lovely warm toastiness, the Ralph Lauren T-350 is worth every cent. Is it washable? you bet! This comforter washes and dries beautifully. The larger sizes like mine(California King) require a big machine, so I take mine to a laundromat. When dried, simply remove it and give it several good shakes before placing back on your bed. Though they do recommend a duvet cover for these comforters, I love the dotted swiss pattern and clean good looks too much to cover it right now.
One other feature of the comforter I appreciate is its non-"slippiness" many of these down comforters will slip and slide off both you and the bed. This one, due to its 350 thread count cover and hefty fill power stay comfortably in place. 14 inch baffled box construction ensures the down doesn't shift or displace, giving you even warmth without cold spots. Even in our hot summers this is not too hot to keep on the bed, eliminating the need for a summer quilt.
This is an investment in good sleeping, both comfortable and easy to maintain. Like all good things in life you get what you paid for. This is a keeper.

Guess you get good quality when you pay for it! So warm. Nice to know that it washes well, and doesn't slide. Important information.
Could have used this last winter! Good detail!!
This sounds great! Though Texas doesn't get super cold we get our share too. Right now we've got a bedspread that does not cut the mustard. I'm going to look into this. Thanks.
kaylala, it was just under $500, but I got it on sale for $199.00!!!
Sounds like you got a great deal. I would have jumped all over this one myself.
For $200, I might pick this down comforter up, but for $490, forget it. I was already choking at the list price and just had to read what EVER made you want to buy a $500 comforter. At that price, I want those goose feathers trimmed in 24k gold.
