Elite Beat Agents

Share and Enjoy:

Elite Beat Agents is an extemely nontraditional game for the Nintendo DS.  It is a localization of the Japanese Ouendan series.  The game relies entirely on the DS touch screen, and involves tapping and sliding with onscreen markers to the beat of the music.

This game is probably the most fun I've had with a DS.  The game is wonderfully absurd: it follows a team of Men In Black-style secret agents who help people with their problems through the power of music and dance.  The stories are told in a comic-book style, and grow increasingly bizarre as the game progresses.

The music is one of the high points of the game.  It covers a wide variety of pop from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, 19 tracks in all.  Artists include everyone from the Village People to the Rolling Stones.  I personally love the music, and if you're a fan of quirky games based around pop music, EBA is a wonderful break from standard games.
