Presto Cool Daddy Cool Touch Electric Deep Fryer

Our family received this deep fryer for Christmas. It is not a huge unit but it is just the right size for our family of three. If you have a larger family, say 5 or more, I would think this might be too small.

What I like about this is it has a lid. When the food is frying the lid is closed and it really reduces the amount of splattering grease. The lid has a window so you can see your food without getting splattered on.

My family has made corn dogs, real french fries, onion rings, homemade chicken nuggets and my favorite cheese curds. I love how the cheese curds turn out just like at a fair.
I like it because it makes the food healthier. Instead of a bag of frozen french fries with preservatives, my wife and I peel real potatoes, cut them up and throw them in the deep fryer and we have homemade french fries.

I like how the basket lowers into the oil and raises above it when done & you can set it on the hinge, you can let your food drip the excess oil off. I feel when you set the oil temperature it stays at that temperature for the cooking time. It is easy to clean, the basket and oil pan remove and they are both dishwasher safe.

There are two things I would improve with this unit though. First there is not a timer. It is would nice if the unit came with a timer. We solved that problem with just using a standard kitchen timer, so it isn't a big issue just something that would have been nice.
Also it seems to take a while to heat the oil up. Again since I know that I make sure to heat it up before I need it.

I feel this is a nice little machine for a small family.
