When my family moved into an apartment the first thing we did was get Renters Insurance. We had heard and seen horror stories of apartment buildings burning down and the tenants not having any kind of insurance. I went to my nearest agents office and spoke with a representative. The lady was really nice and answered all the questions that I had, and I had many. We went over what type of policy would be the best for my familys needs. I had to let the representative know about how much the items in our apartment were valued at. That took the most time to do. Once all the forms were filled out the representative entered all my information into the computer system which then let me know what my premium would be. I set up to have my monthly premium drafted from my checking account each month. This seems to work very well.
I now can sleep better at night knowing that if something was to happen that my family would be covered.
We hear about people losing everything in fires around here all the time and the common thing is they had no insurance. Even renters need content insurance - very wise on your part :) and thanks for the info sounds like you have a good rep.
